Re-Vita's President and Founder, Bob Weatherly, has dedicated his life to making a difference. Raised on an Iowa farm, Bob decided on a career in public service as a state park ranger. While a ranger at Peace Arch International Park, Bob organized local residents to lobby congress to save the park. The effort was a success and Bob was later elected mayor of the town. This early success inspired Bob: "It proved to me that one person can make a difference," he recalls. Bob's leadership has also brought him incredible success in the business world. After forays in the banking and real estate industries, Bob founded a successful oil distribution company before becoming a business advisor to one of the wealthiest families in the world.
During his business travels, Bob saw firsthand the devastating effects of hunger and malnutrition on children in countries around the world. He also learned that many of the "modern problems" experienced by people in the first world nations like the United States -- everything from stress to obesity -- really stem from improper nutrition. Later, he led an international research team developing a nutrient-dense superfood. The goals of the research team were to create a "super" food which would deliver all the vitamins, minerals, amino acids and enzymes necessary to maintain health and vitality. They discovered that through aquaculture farming, they could turn an acre of sand into a pond and grow algae (spirulina) which would produce twenty times the amount of protein per acre than by growing soybeans on the same acre of land.
